Guide Setup

3. Connecting to Audio Input

The BY-BM3031 comes with an integrated 1/8" (3.5 mm) coiled cable for connecting to your recording device.

1. Plug the 3.5 mm connector of the microphone's coiled cable into the microphone input jack of your DSLR, camcorder, or audio recorder.
2. Ensure the connection is firm to avoid audio dropouts.

4. Attaching Windscreen

Use the appropriate windscreen based on your recording environment.

3. Using the High-Pass Filter

The high-pass filter (HPF) helps to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise. It has two settings:

• Datar: No filter applied. Use when you want to capture the full frequency range of your audio.
• 80Hz: Activates the high-pass filter at 80 Hz. This is useful for reducing rumble from air conditioners, traffic, or handling noise.
