4.1. Mounting the Jamb Bracket

1. Position the Jamb Bracket: Place the jamb bracket on the door frame (jamb) at the desired height. Ensure the arrow on the bracket points towards the door. If replacing an old closer, use the existing screw holes if they align.

2. Secure the Jamb Bracket: Use the provided long screws to firmly attach the jamb bracket to the door frame. Ensure it is ¼ inch from the door edge.

4.2. Attaching the Closer to the Jamb Bracket

3. Connect the Closer: Attach the closer to the jamb bracket using the short connecting pin. Insert the pin through the closer's eyelet and the appropriate hole on the jamb bracket.

4.3. Mounting the Door Bracket

4. Prepare for Door Bracket Placement: Pull out the closer rod slightly to reveal the EZ-Hold button. Push the EZ-Hold button so the arrow is just visible. Close the storm door tightly.

5. Mark Door Bracket Position: Connect the door bracket to the closer using the long connecting pin. Place the closer and door bracket assembly onto the door, aligning with existing holes if applicable. Use a pencil to outline the door bracket's position on the door.

6. Remove and Re-attach Door Bracket: Remove the door bracket from the closer. Align the door bracket with your pencil marks and attach it to the door using the provided short screws. Ensure existing holes match, or drill pilot holes if necessary.

4.4. Final Connection and Adjustment

7. Re-connect Closer: Bring the closer back to the door bracket and re-connect it using the long connecting pin.

8. Activate EZ-Hold: Open the storm door slightly. The EZ-Hold feature should activate for the first time. To release, gently push the door slightly further open; the EZ-Hold button will pop out, and the door will return to normal use.

9. Adjust Closing Speed: Test the closer to check the closing speed. Use the tool-free adjusting screw at the end of the pneumatic tube to adjust. Turn clockwise for a slower close, and counter-clockwise for a faster close.

10. Optional Smoother Closing: For an optional smoother closing action, relocate the short connecting pin to the rear-hole on the jamb bracket.

5. Operating Your EZ-Hold Closer

The EZ-Hold feature provides convenient hands-free operation for your screen or storm door.

5.1. Activating the EZ-Hold Feature

1. Open and Press: Open the storm door to your desired position. Press the EZ-Hold button located on the closer body (you can use your foot or hand). The door will now remain open.
