4.1 Channel Mode and Frequency Mode

4.3 NOAA Weather Scan & Receiver

The NOAA feature allows the radio to automatically scan and receive weather reports. This is crucial for staying informed about severe weather conditions.

• Access the NOAA channels through the menu or pre-programmed channel list.
• The radio will provide real-time weather alerts and forecasts.

4.4 Scanning Frequencies

To scan for active frequencies, press and hold the SCAN button (often marked with a blue triangle or similar icon). The radio will scan through frequencies and stop on an active channel, allowing you to listen in.

4.5 Chirp Programming

The UV-5G PRO supports Chirp programming. This allows you to connect the radio to a PC or Mac (using a compatible programming cable, sold separately) to customize channels, frequencies, CTCSS/DCS codes, and other advanced settings. Select "UV-5X" under BAOFENG in the Chirp software.
