3.2 Connecting to the DiFluid Café App via Bluetooth

The DiFluid Omix can connect to the DiFluid Café app for enhanced functionality, data tracking, and OTA updates. Follow these steps to connect:

  1. Download the DiFluid Café app from your device's app store.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Omix device (Settings > General > Bluetooth).
  3. Ensure your phone's location services and Bluetooth are turned on.
  4. Open the DiFluid Café app. The app should automatically detect your Omix device. Tap "Connect" to establish the connection.
  5. If the device does not appear automatically, go to the personal homepage in the app, tap "Bluetooth," manually search for your device name (e.g., Omix Plus 301166), and tap to connect.

4. Parentah Operasi

4.1 Water Activity Measurement

Water activity is a critical parameter for coffee quality and storage. The Omix uses a chilled-mirror-dew-point method for precise measurement.

4.1.1 Water Activity Calibration

Calibration is recommended daily before use, and especially after significant ambient temperature changes. For first-time use, prepare a saturated saline solution for calibration.

  1. Prepare the saturated saline solution: Add regular table salt (NaCl) to the marked line in the supplied bottle, then add purified water to the water line. Shake until no more salt dissolves (some sediment is ideal). Let it sit for 1 hour out of direct sunlight.
  2. Pour the entire solution into Container B.
  3. Place Container B into the Sample Base and cover it with the Main Unit. Wait for 2 minutes for thermal equilibrium.
  4. On the Omix device, tap "Calibration" and then "Water Activity." The calibration process takes about 30-60 seconds.
  5. After successful calibration, the device will display "Success" with a water activity value of approximately 0.75 Aw.

4.1.2 Water Activity Detection

After calibration, you can proceed with measuring your coffee samples.

  1. Ensure "Sample Type" is set to "Auto Detect" in Settings > Measurement > Sample Type. If not, manually select the appropriate samptipe le.
  2. Place your coffee sample into Container A, ensuring the surface is level with the container's edge. Use the included ruler to gently press and level the beans without compressing them too hard.
  3. Place Container A into the Sample Base jeung nutupan eta kalawan Unit Utama.
  4. On the Omix device, tap "Measurement" and then "Water Activity Test." The test takes about 30 seconds.
  5. Tap on the test results to view detailed information, including mirror temperature and bean temperature.

4.2 Moisture Content and Density Measurement

Accurate moisture and density measurements are crucial for coffee processing and storage.

4.2.1 Container Initialization

Container A must be initialized before measuring moisture content and density. This happens automatically during start-up, but can be done manually if needed.

  1. While the Omix is turned off, place the empty Container A into the Sample Base and cover it with the Main Unit. Press the power button to turn it on. This initializes the container.
  2. Alternatively, if the Omix is on, place the empty Container A into the Sample Base, swipe right on the main screen to access "Calibration," and then click "Initialize Container."

4.2.2 Moisture Content and Density Calibration

Calibration for moisture content and Agtron value is required for accurate density measurements.

  1. Take Container D and place it into the Sample Base. Cover it with the Main Unit.
  2. On the Omix device, tap "Calibration" and then "Moisture Content & Agtron Value." The calibration will complete.

4.2.3 Moisture Content and Density Detection

After initialization and calibration, proceed with samppangukuran.

  1. Ensure "Sample Type" is set to "Auto Detect" in Settings > Measurement > Sample Type. If not, manually select the appropriate samptipe le.
  2. Place your coffee sample into Container A, ensuring the surface is level with the container's edge. Use the included ruler to gently press and level the beans without compressing them too hard.
  3. Panutup sample with the Main Unit and lightly press the button or touch the screen to begin testing.
  4. The device will display mesh number, current environmental temperature, humidity, pressure, and altitude results simultaneously. The density result shown is the bulk density.
  5. Tap on the test result to view the estimated true density, which simulates true density using the water displacement method.

4.3 Roast Level (Color) Measurement

The Omix can measure the roast level (color) of coffee samples, providing valuable data for consistency.

4.3.1 Roast Level Calibration

For the first use, a color value calibration is necessary.

  1. Place the empty Container A into the Sample Base, then tap the power button to turn on the Main Unit. Remove Container A.
  2. Take Container D and place it into the Sample Base. Cover with the Main Unit.
  3. On the Omix device, tap "Calibration" and then "Moisture Color & Agtron Value" to perform the color value calibration. The calibration will complete.

4.3.2 Roast Level Detection

Measure the roast level of your coffee samples.

  1. Ensure "Sample Type" is set to "Auto Detect" in Settings > Measurement > Sample Type. If not, manually select the appropriate samptipe le.
  2. For powder samples, use Container C. For roasted beans, use Container B. Ensure the surface of the beans/powder is level with the container's edge. Gently press with the included ruler to level, but do not compress.
  3. Place the filled container into the Sample Base jeung nutupan eta kalawan Unit Utama.
  4. On the Omix device, tap "Measurement" then "Roast Degree."
  5. Tap the detection result to view details, including the standard used and the proportion of various roast levels in the sample. Scroll down to see a histogram with average and standard deviation.

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your DiFluid Omix.

  • After each use, clean the sample container and any residue inside the Main Unit with the included brush. Residue can affect future measurements.
  • After testing wet samples, rinse the container with water and dry it thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive materials like steel wool to clean the container or Main Unit, as this can cause damage.
